Carti does not offer refunds, including for the rest of a billing period after you cancel. Shopify bills your plan, so the charges show on your Shopify bill with your other apps. You can cancel anytime in your Carti dashboard under Settings, then Manage billing. Cancelling takes effect right away, so you are not charged again.
