How do I connect Recharge to Carti?

Connect Recharge so Carti can help your subscribers in the chat. You decide how much Carti can do by the access you give its token, and you can change it any time.

Read-only access. Carti knows each signed-in shopper's subscription, like what they are subscribed to and when their next order is coming, and answers their questions about it in the chat.

Read and write access. Signed-in shoppers can also change their next order from the chat: skip it, move the date, switch to another size or color, change a quantity, or add a one-time item. Carti shows the change on a confirmation card first, and nothing changes until the shopper taps Confirm. Cancelling, frequency, payment and address changes stay in your subscription portal.

Carti only does this for shoppers who are signed in to their customer account on your store.

Connect Recharge

1. In Recharge, open Tools & apps, then API tokens, and create a token with Read access to Customers, Subscriptions and Orders. To let shoppers change their next order from the chat, also give it Write access to Subscriptions and Orders.
2. In Carti, open Settings and find Do you offer subscriptions?
3. Choose Recharge as your subscription app, if Carti has not picked it already.
4. Paste the token into Recharge API token and click Connect.

The card then shows Connected and the access your token gives: Read-only access or Read and write access.

Good to know

• It works on every Carti plan, including Free.
• To change the access, click Disconnect, then connect again with a new token.
• If Recharge stops accepting the token, the card shows Needs reconnect. Paste a new token to fix it.
• Use a different subscription app? Choose Other, name the app, and send us the request.
